Tenebrae: A Prayer For Deliverance
20th Oct | 19:30 | Town Church
£20/Free U18
Returning to Town Church after a sell out performance last year, Tenebrae will bring their critically acclaimed programme A Prayer For Deliverance, Tenebrae explores the human search for peace, solace, and deliverance through a tapestry of sacred choral works spanning centuries. At its heart is Joel Thompson’s A Prayer for Deliverance, a powerful new setting of Psalm 102, written in response to contemporary cries for justice and mercy. Surrounding it are works by Howells, Shaw, Tavener, and others—each offering a unique lens on grief, hope, and transcendence. United by Tenebrae’s signature blend of precision and expressive depth, this programme invites listeners into a meditative space where ancient words meet modern resonance.
