Come and Sing Evensong

Join the Director of the Royal Society of Church Musicians in a Come and Sing Evensong, open to all singers to take part. Music will be provided and learned on the day, and all ages and abilities are welcome to take part. This will be a hugely insightful experience with a formidable musician and educator, and a wonderful opportunity to sing some beautiful music with friends. We will serve tea and cake between the rehearsal and the service.
The music will be supplied on the day and taken from the RSCM ‘Come and Sing’ Evensong book. \

Hugh Morris
​
Hugh Morris is Director of the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM), a role he has held since 2018. A professional church musician, conductor, organist, educator and qualified teacher, Hugh has spent his career bringing people together through music and championing its remarkable ability to enrich worship and transform lives.
​
Before joining the RSCM, Hugh worked as a church musician in a wide variety of settings, from parish churches to cathedrals, including at Derby Cathedral. At the heart of his work is a passion for encouraging others to make music, from experienced performers to those discovering their voice for the first time. He is particularly committed to inspiring young people and ensuring that the joy and tradition of church music continue to flourish for future generations.
As Director of the RSCM, Hugh leads its work supporting singers, choirs, organists, clergy and music leaders across the UK and internationally. He is a passionate advocate for the power of music to bring people together, deepen worship and strengthen communities.
As a conductor and choir trainer, Hugh is never happier than when making music with others, and one of his greatest joys is helping singers discover what they can achieve together.
